Wendy Little is a comedian, actor, writer, composer and self-confessed failed tooth fairy. Wendy’s penchant for funny songs, most likely stems from her parents. They performed in Gilbert and Sullivan productions and left six-month old Wendy backstage in a wicker bassinet. She was either destined to be a musical comic or the very model of a modern major general. Wendy is a regular performer on the Melbourne stand-up comedy circuit and has also performed at stand-up comedy venues in Adelaide, Sydney and Edinburgh. Wendy is the founding member of musical comedy trio The Sheryls - rock queens who were infamous for their irreverent mix of live songs and sketches, dazzling audiences in festivals round the world from 1998-2003. A personal highlight for Wendy whilst ‘sheryling’ was covering an entire 8 tonne truck in flannelette and making flannelette ballgowns and platform moccasins for The Sheryls 2001 Mardi Gras float. Wendy has produced, performed and written shows for twelve Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, including her solo shows “Kill Bob Vol. 13” (2004) and “Limited Sedition” (2006) and most recently as a cast member in “Parental as Anything” (2007). Wendy has also produced, performed and written comedy shows for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Wendy’s next solo show “Helmet Hair” premiered at the North Melbourne Town Hall as part of the 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Wendy has been seen on the telly The Great Debate (TEN), Upfront 8 (ABC), Standing Up (ABC), various Comedy Channel interstitals, Channel 31 (The Loft, Squeal, Raucous, Champagne Comedy, Hellbent, The Comic Box, The Foosy Show), Glued to the Telly (ABC), The Footy Show (9) and can be heard on the radio every Sat from 4-6 in "The Chardy Ladies" at Southern FM 88.3.
